WSET Wine Education Week - Prosecco Seminar and reception party

2019 marks 50 years since the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) was founded to provide wine and spirits education to the industry.
Now the world’s largest provider of wine and spirits qualifications for both professionals and enthusiasts, WSET will be celebrating this landmark anniversary launching the first ever global "Wine Education Week" from 9-15 September 2019.

Caplan Wine Academy will take part in this global event as well, by organizing a special seminar and a networking party for wine students and wine lovers.

2019 marks also another important landmark: 50 years since the creation of the Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene denomination.

Traditionally made in Veneto since at least the 19th century, Prosecco is today one of the most important sparkling wines of Italy and the World. It has been able to offer a fashionable and reasonably priced alternative to Champagne and the efforts of the producers have been rewarded with constantly increasing consumption, both in Italy and abroad.

Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, today a DOCG, is the most renowned area for the production of Prosecco and it offers a number of styles ranging from charming, quaffing aperitif wines to complex, intense, high quality cuvées.

In this seminar we are going to briefly look at its history and styles, while tasting three of the most representative wines of the area.
